Jobholler Review (2026): Flat-Price AI Receptionist for Contractors

Jobholler turns missed calls into emailed leads at a flat monthly price. Here's what each plan includes and where it falls short.

Research note: features and prices below are as published by each vendor (October 2026). This is an editorial comparison, not a lab test. Disclosure.

What Jobholler is

Jobholler (getjobholler.com; not jobholler.com, which is an unrelated company) is a 24/7 AI receptionist for contractors in the United States. It's deliberately simple: forward your missed and after-hours calls, it answers with your business name, captures the caller's name, phone, address and issue, scores the lead from the transcript, and emails you the lead. No porting; you keep your number.

The pricing model is the big differentiator. Jobholler says "your selected plan price includes call handling; call length does not change it." There are no published per-minute or per-call overages.

Earlier versions of Jobholler's pricing page listed bilingual English/Spanish intake and instant SMS to callers. Neither appears on the October 16 pricing page, so we no longer list them. Ask Jobholler directly if you need either.

Which plan to pick

Illustrative math, not data: flat pricing helps most in surge months. A shop answering 900 minutes in a heat wave would pay $85–$399 on Jobholler regardless of call length, versus Wakeman Front Desk at $349 + 150 × $0.39 = $407.50, or OnCrew's call-based plans depending on call count. Your own volumes decide this.

Trial and cancellation

Jobholler now advertises a 3-day free trial consistently on its homepage and pricing page ("$0 today"), with full trial and renewal terms shown at checkout. Checkout runs through Stripe. (In early October its pricing page said 24 hours; it has since been aligned.) Cancellation is managed from Account → Billing. Three days is short: schedule your test calls before you sign up so you can use the whole trial.

Setup

  1. Sign up and add your business details and greeting.
  2. Turn on call forwarding from your cell, landline or business phone system (usually one code or setting).
  3. Call the line yourself, playing a customer with a no-heat call, a "do you have an opening today" call and a price question.
  4. Check the emailed lead: name, number, address, issue, and how it scored the lead.
  5. Decide where leads go (email address set on your account) and who calls them back.

What callers hear

On Jobholler's public demo line, the receptionist introduces itself as "Jobholler's automated intake assistant," so expect it to be clear that it's automated. On your line, the greeting uses your business name, then it asks a few questions about the service request. Its demo prompts are HVAC-flavored ("My furnace stopped working last night").

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

Pros (from vendor info)

  • Flat monthly price; call length doesn't change it
  • Keep your number; works with cell, landline or VoIP
  • Lead scoring from transcripts
  • Google review requests built into Core
  • Pro adds 3 lines, routing and self-scheduling

Cons / watch-outs

  • Only a 3-day trial, with a card at checkout
  • Leads arrive by email; no published text alerts or live transfer on Starter/Core
  • No published Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan integration
  • Spanish no longer listed on the pricing page
  • Big price jump from Core to Pro

Buy it if: you want predictable cost, an emailed lead per call is enough, and you work leads from your inbox.

Skip it if: you need emergencies to ring a tech live during the call (look at Wakeman or OnCrew, both of which publish on-call alerts and transfers), need booking into your field software, or need Spanish confirmed.
